Marple meander

Above Hawk Green
Goyt Mill and canalHaving looked down on the canal on the drive home yesterday (not by the most direct route but we get bored with the A6) we walked out along a canal from Marple, then up and over a hill, via Hawk Green and the back past Goyt Mill.

We also went for a walk on Monday, along the Mersey from our house, quite fortunately missing the showers. But I'll put this in the Stockport Heritage Trust blog.

Hathersage hack

On Saturday we went for a walk from Hathersage with friends. However, the rain this month meant the stepping stones were impassable which curtailed our walk.Stepping stones

Afterwards I bought a couple of books at the Bamford garden centre (I am told you can get plants at garden centres as well): Longitude and The Curious Incidence of the Dog in the Night-Time. I will register them on BookCrossing soon.

The Crown Inn under the viaduct

The Crown Inn under the viaduct

Met with James, Alistair, Phil, Karen and Bob for a drink. on Friday evening. I don't recall there being such a big range of drinks before. I wasn't too fond of the light Golden Dragon. But the dark stuff was almost like Guiness and was beautiful.

Ran Run

I did complete the run. It took me one hour 10 minutes. It was longer than I had hoped, but I have never timed myself before and it is some time since I was running regularly. It would be nice to maintain a certain level of fitness, but that remains to be seen.

near the finish lineOfficial timing: 01:09:23, position: 16,442 out of about 25,000.

Slightly closer to the finish line

Faber Maunsell runners

Above is a photo of most of the Faber Maunsell runners, stood outside our Altrincham office. You can see me somewhere at the back, which will also represent my position on Sunday morning.

Click below to see an interesting Faber Maunsell job. I can't claim to have anything to do with it, apart from being reminded about it at every corporate event I attend. Posted by Picasa
